Hi... I’m MO MANDEL
I’m a writer, a comedian, and an actor who has appeared on some of your favorite TV shows, as well as a few that you absolutely hate. I’ve even created a few myself. Hopefully you liked those ones. Most recently, I released my third comedy special, played a big role in a movie, and wrote commercials for a slew of awesome companies. Trying To Make It
Just released my third special on 800 Pound Gorilla’s Youtube Channel. A big chunk is about the trials and tribulations of trying to knock up my wife. Spoiler Alert: I did it! Twice! Also Spoiler Alert: Having 2 kids is…. Fun.
PUBLIC REC - “Comfort Rules”
Wrote a bunch of fun spots for Public Rec’s, “Comfort Rules,” campaign. They wanted to highlight the laid back, relaxed vibes of the clothing, while leaning into the comedy of guys just being guys. The campaign was a huge success and got millions of views online as well as on linear TV. I acted in a few of the spots too, alongside some hilarious comedians, which was dope.
WTF with Marc Maron - Mo Mandel | WTF Podcast
I got to be a guest on Marc Maron’s hugely popular podcast while promoting my new special. Some people said we sound so similar that its hard to tell us apart. Here’s a hint, when you hear someone talking who is rich and successful, it’s Marc. When you hear someone talking who is exhausted from changing diapers, it’s me. Enjoy!
Mo Mandel
You don’t get anywhere creatively if you aren’t willing to put in the work, and that’s what I’ve done my whole career. Having a couple kids to feed is also a big motivation, which is why while performing stand up comedy over the past twenty years, I’ve also sold a bunch of TV shows, scripts for feature films, written commercials, and acted in a ton of stuff, all while managing to tour the world. Okay mostly just while touring North America, but still, it’s been a great journey and Calgary is a lot nicer than you might think. Bottom line, I love creating and performing and I feel very lucky to have made a living doing both. So far my kids haven’t starved, fingers crossed!
